The role
As the Payroll Operations Manager for Dave jones, you will thrive in leading your team as they execute BAU payroll processing while identifying key process improvements projects alongside the payroll leadership group. You will partner with leaders across our business to support the delivery of outstanding experiences to our 7,000 + employees and countless customers alike. This hands-on, yet highly strategic role includes coaching your team, delivering robust audit and compliance processes while delivering solution-orientated outcomes.
Based in Burnley, with a hybrid mix of time in the office and from home, this will suit a Payroll leader who is passionate about developing the capabilities of their team to deliver outstanding people experiences for an iconic Australian retailing group.

  • Leadership of payroll function ensuring accurate payroll for each employee
  • Coach, mentor and up-skill your team leads to develop strong succession plan of talent
  • Lead and contribute to key transformation projects across the wider HR and corporate teams
  • Ensure effective reporting strategies across our diverse payroll mix
  • Create a high performing team culture with a focus on business partnering
  • Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across key functions in the business

Profile

The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • A customer focused approach mixed with proactive communication skills

  • Experience over an extensive career as a Payroll Manager

  • A passion for coaching and developing your teams around you

  • Ability to navigate complex corporate business structures

  • Experience working across industry awards, EBA and corporate payroll

  • Proven ability to lead/deliver on payroll process improvements including system integrations

  • Experience within a fasted paced, multifaceted environment essential with retail highly regarded

  • Having worked previously with PayGlobal and/or Empower payroll systems highly regarded but not essential
